All forty one cooperatives throughout Makwanpur, Kavre, Chitwon, and Kathmandu will be holding their Annual General Assembly Meeting this month (December).
Currently, the president of WACN, Prativa Subedi, is in Chitwon, consulting with the main cooperative leaders there over the next six days as they host their meetings. The AGM provides a forum for the cooperative members to stay informed about recent developments, network with other members, and find the strength and inspiration to continue with their work in savings, credit and community development.
The leaders review the activity of the past year, identify accomplishments and challenges, acknowledge key players, present the budget, and outline future plans. The main agenda for the next year is to promote cooperative education, encourage income generation schemes, and further develop the resource centers.
