Nari Chetana Kendra Nepal organized a five-day training program on “Gender Violence, Women’s Legal Rights, and Social Justice” at the Nari Chetana Network Office (SANJAL) in Banepa. A total of 30 participants from different Women Dialogue Groups of Banepa Municipality attended the training. The program aimed to equip facilitators with the required skills to raise awareness of gender-based violence and provide legal assistance to individuals impacted.
Throughout the sessions, participants engaged with key topics such as gender, gender-based violence, women’s legal rights, and social justice. The curriculum covered essential laws and policies, the significance of legal frameworks, proper documentation procedures, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), and the media’s pivotal role in raising GESI awareness. This training is expected to contribute to the long-term goal of promoting social justice and improving women’s livelihoods in the region through enhanced legal knowledge and support. On the final day, certificates were awarded by Srijana Poudel, President of Nari Chetana Kendra Nepal, along with Advocate Krishna Pyari Nakarmi and Shanti Lama, secretary of WACN. Following the training, all participants committed to applying their newly acquired skills to address gender-based violence and advocate for women’s legal rights within their communities.
